Chicken Yakitori
11 February 2011
This recipe is a request of my husband. I let him choose from the Asian Favorites cookbook of our friend and he pointed out this Chicken Yakitori. Sounds very Japanese to us. Well, this is supposed to be a finger food as directed in the book, but I made it as a dinner dish.
So here goes the Chicken Yakitori for the second Friday of February:
Ingredients:
1 lb chicken breasts sliced lengthwise
*for marinade:
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
1/4 cup honey
1 garlic clove, crushed
1/2 tsp ginger, ground
oil for greasing
Steps:
1. Marinade the chicken breasts with the teriyaki sauce, honey, garlic and ginger overnight.
2. Heat barbecue grill or electric grill and grease lightly with oil.
3. Place the chicken in a row and cook for 2 minutes on each side, brushing with marinade as they cook, and when turned.
4. Wait until chicken is golden brown or well done and serve with rice.
Dinner is served.
